I’ve participated in a over a hundred plant medicine ceremonies with religious and shamanic groups around the world and I would say that this was my favorite retreat. The lodging was very balanced in that it was comfortable, not overly modernized, and in a comfortable jungle setting (not too humid/not too many mosquitos. The group was not too big and not too small (10 people) and the type of people that were drawn to this retreat were mature (mid 30’s and up), well educated, stable, experienced with plant medicine, and motivated to find healing for various reasons. I liked the supportive conversations that took place and I hope to keep in contact with several people. I found Frederick to be down to earth, approachable, and have a more comprehensive background than most people leading this work. Sometimes I’ve come across Shamans in remote parts of the world that are very gifted but out of touch with western challenges. Frederick honors and adheres to his Q’ero training but also integrates his training as a cranial therapist into his work. Rogelio the chef prepared amazing food and was a great friend to everyone in the group.
